Red Hawk Technologies Gives Back: Annual Scholarship Supports Northern KY Tech Talent

For five years, Red Hawk Technologies has been committed to giving back to our Northern Kentucky community by awarding an annual educational scholarship to a deserving student enrolled in Computer & Information Technology at Gateway Community & Technical College (KGCTC). It's a privilege we hold dear, reflecting our deep appreciation for the support we've received.

The selection process is a deeply collaborative effort. Gateway's thorough vetting narrows down the applicants to a few exceptional finalists. We then anonymize these submissions and share them with our entire Red Hawk team. Together, we explore their stories, their aspirations, and their heartfelt motivations. This process is driven by [our core values] empathy, as we strive to understand each applicant's unique circumstances. We maintain integrity by ensuring fairness and impartiality. Transparency is key, as we share the anonymized applications with the entire team. We encourage collaboration through open discussion and diverse perspectives. And throughout, we look for candidates who demonstrate creativity in their approach to challenges and their vision for the future.

Our first scholarship recipient, Sylvia Mullins, remains a cherished part of our story. Her journey is a testament to the power of opportunity and perseverance. You can read more about Sylvia and other Gateway graduates who have found fulfilling careers in Northern Kentucky's tech industry in this article from Soapbox Media: Gateway grads find fulfilling careers at growing Northern Kentucky tech companies

Red Hawk ScholarshipSylvia, now an Associate Software Engineer at Red Hawk, reflects, “The Red Hawk Technologies scholarship was more than just financial aid - it was the foundation of my future. They didn’t just invest in my education; they invested in me. For years, they stayed in touch, checking in on my progress, encouraging me, and keeping me motivated to keep learning. Their support gave me the confidence and opportunities I needed to grow as a programmer. Now, I’m proud to be part of Red Hawk, giving back in every way I can to the company that gave me my start. I can’t imagine being anywhere else and plan to be here for years to come.”

This year, we're thrilled for our scholarship recipient. Her passion for computers and coding is palpable. "I love computers, and I enjoy coding. I can’t imagine myself doing anything else," she shares. Her ambition to become a software engineer, building a stable and fulfilling career, resonates deeply with our mission.

"Helping others succeed is at the core of what we do," says Matt Strippelhoff, Parter, CEO / CRO of Red Hawk Technologies. "It’s why we went into business in the first place. This scholarship is one more way we can make a difference in our community. We believe the impact we have on those we serve and the manner in which we conduct business as a member of the IT industry in the Northern Kentucky region will be our legacy."

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated colleagues, valued clients, trusted vendors, and strategic partners. Your unwavering support has made this scholarship possible, enabling us to invest in the future of aspiring technologists like Toshifumi. We are confident that this scholarship will have a transformative impact on her life, her family, and the communities she will serve.
